crossing the Cortile della Pigna you will enter Palazzo
Belvedere, the first stop and heart of the Vatican Museums.

Descending
the Bernini-designed stairwell, Scala Regia, you will enter St.
Peter's Basilica -the most important and largest church in all
of Christianity. |

From
here your will continue through several minor but important
exhibits, such as the Candle Gallery, Map and Oriental Rug Rooms
before entering the Apostolic Building -the oldest part of the
Vatican complex.
Here your guide will lead you through the former private
quarters of Pope Julius II, splendidly adorned with artwork
created by Raffaello.
Next stop is the world-famous Sistine Chapel, whose art is the
work of Renaissance painter and sculptor, Michelangelo. |
